Gmail no longer support access for less secure apps. To get around this we have to create an app password in the google account.
To do this;
- On the server where the Vetlink background is log into their Gmail account. You need to be on the server so it remembers that computer as a trusted device.
- Try get clinic to create account and add their phone number.
Otherwise if we create account use the Vetlinkpro mobile number 0224796033, record details of gmail account in Keeweb under Clinic
Passwords database so we can refer if needed. Eg. email address, login password, mobile number for verification and app password once created. - Go to Profile in top right then Manage your Google Account
- Click the Security section.
- Enable 2-Step Verification (the clinic will need to do this on a device/phone they can access)
- Once enabled go back into 2-Step Verification
- Once enabled the App Passwords option will appear.
- Go into App Passwords (link to app passwords)
- Add VetlinkPro as an app
- for Select App choose Other
- Enter VetlinkPRO as the name.
- Click Generate to get the password
- Note down the password
- Depending on what you are setting up
- For labmail Enter the password into d:\popclient\config.xml
- For outbound email from Vetlink enter into Options -> Setup -> Misc -> Internet -> Password
